As well as trying out engine fog effects, this is also a shot of the beginnings of the central crossroads of the map. The building under-construction is the warehouse beneath which is the player’s starting point in the mod; “The Cellar”

These are the new road textures, complete with yellow lines, drains etc. They remain in the map, but have been subsequently re-sized; more of which later. The pavement texture has also been replaced, not just to reduce the “Quake-y” brown!

The mod was started in 2008 and this was the first texture test. Being a city map, the first textures to source were tarmac and building ones. The building one in this shot has been retained (for a fairly significant building) but I found better tarmac/road textures.
